Let’s be honest...
Majority of day-to-day product design doesn’t fit the mold for a traditional case study. That work still deserves to be showcased.
Some accomplishments I am particularly proud of during my time with Hudu:
Created and implemented a design system of font styles, colors, components, and UX patterns, which resulted in a more professional, accessible, and uniform experience for users across all product offerings.
Completely overhauled dark mode across all three product offerings. I created a dark mode color palette and a dark mode version of every component in our design system, then worked directly with our lead front end developer to update every single color and component in use. In addition to the visual improvement, the new dark mode theme met all WCAG AA color contrast requirements.
Led a complete redesign of the web app’s data table framework to implement highly-requested key features including frozen headers and columns, column sorting, bulk action options, column resizing, results per page and pagination options, filtering, and empty states.
Created a beta program with a dedicated newsletter, support center, bug submission system, and user feedback system. I worked with the dev and product team to overhaul our entire release process to ensure a beta period existed for each major release. This new program drastically reduced the number of bugs in production and has grown to include 39 active members and counting.
Actively engaged with users in the company’s official Discord channel and thread in MSPGeek’s Discord to gather feedback, answer questions, and provide transparency and insight into the product roadmap whenever possible. This engagement built customer satisfaction by showing our users we are listening to and implementing their feedback.
